Marketing is STRATEGIC, they determine what the market wants (understand the needs of MANY cusotmers) and which markets might want this particular product or service. Sales is just tactics, they sell what marketing determines what should be the product to the specific markets (verticals) that a product appeals to. Marketing is changing in radically interesting ways. I do think that marketers are being called upon to draw together the people who make products and the people who use them. Marketing is ongoing and dynamic because customer needs and library products change. The marketing process determines the decisions and activities involved in continuing to meet the needs of customers.
Marketing is not just about moving products and services, ultimately its about selling an idea or perception about an organisation or it’s products and services to potential consumers. A church has a very important idea to communicate, the truth that Jesus Christ died for every single one of you, sometimes this means that a church has to meet the world on a level which people in the world are able to understand. Marketing is an investment that, if done wisely, not only pays for itself but allows a business to grow. When proper marketing gets the message to the right audience, delivered in the right context, at the right price, you can’t go wrong. Marketing is now more appropriately seen as a set of capabilities and management processes, not as a separate bureaucratic function in a hierarchical organization.
Marketing is an enormous sphere of human activity. This allows you to choose from a great variety of Marketing dissertation topics. Marketing is analysis, and a sound marketing strategy is based on this analysis. Marketing is part of the whole story if you want to run a business. No good at it .then work for someone.
Marketing is never more important than when you’re trying to turn around an underperforming IT organization. When I began my tenure at the USTA, our IT team had a bad reputation and no credibility.
